Track what you've done, see how you've grown

June 29, 2017 - Madison Sury
Hello fellow runners/walkers,

Say you've been training for 2 months and that 4 mile run is seemingly effortless now; Two months ago you could barely make it through that run, but now it's a piece of cake! Are you curious about how you felt 2 months ago, but you just can't quite remember the exact feeling? Well keep reading and I'll give you wonderful information so that you CAN remember how you felt and what exactly you did.

As a consistent runner, I love to check my progress over the months and even over the years. Three years ago I had to take 1-2 breaks during my 5 mile run, but now I can run 12 miles without stopping. It's crazy to look back and see how much you've grown into your current fitness state.

I use a website online called This is the perfect site to track any workout you do! This system allows you to log your run/walk and log how fast you went, how you felt, additional comments you want to make, the type of terrain you worked out on, and it even has sections to log interval workouts or your cross training activity for the day. You can log when you run, walk, bike, swim, elliptical, and many other activities you do on a daily basis! It's free and easy to set up and TONS of active enthusiasts use it.

Make it a daily routine and jump right on your computer or cell phone to log what you've just done for the day. This may even motivate you to keep working out so you can look back a year from now and be like, “wow, how was I seriously that slow.” Trust me, you'll be amazed with what you accomplish if you consistently stick to your workout routine!

Like I said, I could barely make it through a 5 mile run, and now I can easily conquer a 12 mile run. It's amazing to see how much progress I have made and this logging system reminds me that the work I'm doing is paying off! Each day may feel the same and you may feel like you are never gaining any fitness, but using this system will show you that you are in fact making progress.

If anyone has any questions about this logging website, email me at and I'll be happy to answer them! I've been using this system for about 3 years so I'm very familiar with it.

Happy running,

Madison S
